    I use powergrips on my polo bike and have it so that when the strap is tight my foot is placed further forward than I'd usually ride.

    When I'm riding that bike for any amount of distance etc I slide my foot back so I'm pushing with the ball of my foot but this obviously means the straps are looser. A little forward slide of the foot means that I can still skid.
