  • gusyup, a first concussion is normally not that bad; but concussions are tricky. The brain does a good job of repairing damage without the body being too aware of the extent of the damage. Concussions are worse when they are repeated, when the cumulative damage can be severe. Falling as a child, hitting your head and blacking out, is concussion. The action of the brain hitting the inside of your skull is concussive damage, and causes brain scarring. Each concussion is easier to trigger as time and repeats occur.

    Some older boxers can be knocked out by the thinnest of teenagers, because the scarring, and therefore the damage is so bad.

    As the others said, step away from the bike, and go get a scan. Listen to folks that give a damn.
