It is a bit big.

As am I. 6"8

I think it is a good buy for those tubes alone.
-
• #5
did you get it?
-

Not decided yet, but I've got his number and he's local. Waiting to see what the consensus is as I'm a total 'tard when it comes to road stuff...

fair enough. big frames *when they come up tend to go relatively cheap so although you didn't get this one don't feel that you have missed too much - it was pretty sweet though.

You misunderstand I fear Jacqui! It didn't sell on ebay, but I'm in touch with it's owner and might buy it tomorrow. I was wanting opinions from folk on wether it's a sensible choice :)

Very sensible choice - Dave Lloyd had a good reputation as a bike builder and the tubeset is a good quality one (I had a Pinarello in the same tubeset once and it rode beautifully).

Those are nice tubes, don't know anything about the builder though.

Just what I needed to hear. Thanks!

Looks good

if i was your height I'd buy it- offer him £100. see what happens.

+1 to Andyp and eyebrows.
There can't be many people who need a frame this big, so I'd use your height as a bargaining tool "If I don't buy it, who will?" -
• #15
go for it man, looks pretty decent!

Jammy, only just spotted this thread - the Dave Lloyd is an absolute steal at that price. He was an extremely successful time-triallist BITD and had a bike shop/frame-builders on The Wirral.

Thanks for the replies chaps.
I'm going to start at £80 - what's the worst that could happen eh? -
• #18
He's bringing them round tomorrow for me to have a look at!
Nice bloke. -
• #19
Good score - nice frame!
-
• #20
Got it. £120.
Frame seems to be in great condition, with just a couple of scratches. The forks are brand-spankin' new! Now for the slow income-linked acquisition of all the other bits. -
• #21
Good man. Sounds like you need to work on your negotiating skills though. ;-p

I tried! He wouldn't budge though.
I even bargain in Currys so I think I met my match in this guy.
I'm in talks with the bloke who was selling this little beasty...

Any options/thoughts on this frame/fork combo would be appriciated. I'm thinking of going to pick it up tomorrow.
