I can't believe no one has complained and had stupid metal drain covers replaced.
They're right in the cycling line on so many streets.
In Oz they use concrete lids or lay tar over the metal ones. -

i currently have matching road rash on both my hips and corresponding lumps taken out of both my ankle flesh... thats what i get for caneing it twice in a week... i f**kin hate rubinio's... seperated my shoulder a few years back, really aesthetic snakebite like scar on the back of my calf after she threw the chain, mostly repetitive road rash on my hips though,...

really is piss poor design to the bikers, why can't people design such things with some ounce of thought ?? -

Oh, and glad to hear you're alright/survived. A broken collar-bone sucks but it could have been worse!

Rubino Pros are great. I'll have none of this Rubino hating unless Conti have started calling their tyres Rubinos?

I'm with hippy (recent convert/convict).
Rode the most horribly treacherous descents in torrential rain during the recent Burgess Hill 95 mile sportive and they worked well (Pros). 100psi back, 95psi front. Comfy and predictable.
I remember having some cheaper Rubino Techs or something that were sketchy - the back end used to go a bit if I didn't keep smooth power through the drivetrain on wet corners (fixed).
Anyway, who needs another 'what tyre' debate...

Too late. I've written my letter and me and your English President George Brown are like this fingers crossed

Me me me! But only because I'm always so very, very right. ;)
Oh, for the record, I don't like plain old boring wired-beaded Rubinos. They're reasonably durable but the grip leaves a little to be desired. I'm running an old one on the rear of the cuntster at the mo'.

I've got a nice big dent in each shin from landing shin-first on my BMX pedals a couple of years back...they were no fun

Shit! I just bought a pair to upon reccomendation of LFGSS forumengers!
I specifically stressed that the change of tyre (and upgrade to 25c form 23) was due to finding potholed wet streets very challenging!

Well im not changing em now, and the fronts likeley to last forever.
Better just start wearing my helmet & hope for the best.
thanks to the evil of wet drain covers placed on a corner and excess speed i'm sitting at home with a broken collarbone. it's fucking sore and gonna be off work unpaid for at least a week or two, off bike for even more, really not looking forward to public transport. just wondering what's the most common bike injury out there, (apart from road rash) collarbone seems to be a favourite. god i'm gonna be bored, can't even type with both hands.
