splatbucket just a thought, would it not be possible to use fact that its a wheel and it spins to help sand it? maybe some for of mount then use sand paper attached to a drill and let it do most of the work?
or use a sanding machine? ;) -

i dont want to start a repeat thread but i cant work out from the answers on this page...will paint stripper remove the colour from my deep vs or is sanding or painting over the only way to go if i want to change the colour of them?

surely the other way around, can you sand/paint or do you have to use paint-stripper?
seems from the posts to change colour you can sand / paint. tynan also wrote an epic post on this about 2 months ago, it's there if you use the force

that looks amazing. I didn't know velocity had that under its belt. very nice. I may have to do that as well.

was about to start a new thread but just saw this. Scrapper im about to do exactly the same thing to my wheel, how did yours hold up?? Did the paiint just flake off straight away?? Did u prime it after painting?
-
• #36
how can you prime something after painting it? is that like an inverse external negative shim?
-
• #37
depends if it's originally a good surface to start with. you don't have to strip back to metal for all repainting. especially if you use an etch primer.

did you just spray the wheel itself instead of taking it apart and spraying the rim?

Can you strip the colour off a set of rims? I've got a set of red alex rims which need to be used for now (lack of money for a new set) and want them plain silver. Could I just go about it like stripping paint off of a frame?

yes. i did it with a velocity. nitromores it a few times then sand/wire brush it. hard to get a perfect finish but looks great imo
