Idiot computer question

Erm, does anyone know how to get symbols (accents, etc.) in Pages on a Macbook? I'm trying to put a grave accent on an e, and the only one I can find a keyboard shortcut for is the acute accent, as in 'café' (I want the one that's the other way round).

Hold alt and press the tilde key, then the letter you want accented.

If I can't find a symbol I'm looking for I usually google it and then copy and paste it from the text.

How do you google it if you can't type it? :)

You can simply open the Character palette from the menu bar (the little UK flag in the upper right).

Choose 'show character palette' - then in the left hand colum choose European Scripts then in it's sub menu choose Diacritics.

Or use the keyboard Viewer (right under character palette' in the menu).

The the last couple of days I've spent most of my spare time trying to save my computer from digital demons...i don't recall how they entered my computer but they done a great job of fucking it up.
i had no choice but to repair windows....that crashed as well! so i have to completely reinstall windows.done that without losing any data.althought it wasn't lost i still couldn't access it.something to do with ownership of folder ect.i spent ages gonig through forums searching for the holy grail with no avail.
Untill i found the answer on the microsoft support site...REjOICE! i have my music back!
