Can your wheel be trued? Did you try?
QR or bolt-on? (not Bolton)

Actually, I've not tried to true it yet... It''s not out by much, i released the front break (not removed it) and cycled home. It looks like I'd need to take a rubber mallet to it to straighten.
Perhaps I'm missing something, and if anyones out in London (central) that can show me a trick, I'd quite happy ride up to see.

not QR, it's a bolt on :)

What do you mean missing something? Like how to true wheels? Is it 'only' wobbling side-to-side? If it's not a dented rim and the wobble isn't too severe it's most likely repairable.
http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tooltips/truing.htmlI will have a bolt-on front FS soon.

hippy, so what happened was came spinning round a corner to find a bollard in the middle. Over compensated to the right, front wheel into railing, bike still going forward.
the wobble is not terrible, i mean, with the front break released (ie: latch to remove wheel), I can cycle it. However, it's still semi buckled (but not like 90 degree style).
I'll try the sheldon tips and see if I can bend it back, mind, if there is a wheel going, I still need to build a beater as well....

if it's just a case of truing it'll take about 10 quid at the most dude... maybe even today..
try posting a thread called "wheel true needed, today if possible - cash/treats paid"
worth a shot, you might be up and running again by the evening..

Not another thread.. just PM arup, dogsballs or one of the others who like tightening their spokes.
So, ironically after reading all the threads about cycling drunk... I managed to do a duck and dive but into a very stationary post. Now, I have an interesting weave (aka buckled) front wheel.
Anyone got a front wheel, 700c for sale at a 40ish mark ? please let me know :)
Cheers
