ooo exciting... up for the next time...
what are the goals like? surface etc?
-
• #28
Surface good and smooth, goals... wide. I was scoring pot-shots constantly. Court slightly slopes toward the road side goal. Fence is ok but not great, at least the ball doesn't escape.
Biggest problem with the court is the extra stuff like basketball goals and the wide goals. -

sounds like its good for target practice?

sounds great surely 3 a side would mean lots of sprints and dribbles?
-
• #33
Yea, 3 a side is FAST! Break fast for the goal and most likely get one challenge until you have to try and score on the goalie if there is one...

Too fast I say. It's a good learning experience, but 4 a side is better. You still have the long breaks, but you have a great level of hectic close play.

(oops, this is Mike)

Yeah, certain players/bikes are going to do better on a large, long court. I'm not one of those players...
-
• #38
4 a side was awesome. And kinda intimidating when all four of them come for you at once:) 5 a side could be better because there's just about enough space, although I think I'm incapable of remembering who's on my team with that many players.
The lights are perfect. There's no incentive to go home. And next week I'm bringing a proper lockring..

first time played the court last night numbers were slim... rik, go harry, and JDSH. Was good fun...
Lights are good but theres lots of stuff sticking outta the ground, goal posts rails etc.
The game is quite chasey and fast not too many long shots. I could imagine as the winter months kick in this'll be a nice court... just cos of the lights and the longer sprints to keep warm played with gloves last night too! And i think the street hockey ball suits this court better also, as the franklin would be all over the place, but willing to give it a go.
mike can we change the title of this to "Central st court?

Done.
Not so sure what you mean by the street hockey ball would be better than the franklin. You mean the, heavy, field hocky ball? I disagree. With the speeds, the heavier ball would/could get ahead of you too easily. Harder to control and hurt a bit more!

cheers mike,
yeah there was a fear involved with the heavier ball... it is a bit intimating. (yeah i shit myself abit when JDSH started the backswing)
wicked court, has some urban furniture but is good, the best thing, 9 o'clock and still playing.
5 a side maybe too crowed but 4, no problems.
good games tonight
