If you have a look on the link for Ocean you'll find information on ordering a new Panasonic...

you can get a semi-custom Panasonic.. straight from the factory for £400.... that ebay frame is too expensive!
-

kalavinka are not taking any more orders :(
i love their bikes, stunning workmanship,
and th guys who work there are nice too -
• #31

Something British.

I'm planning to order an NJS Panasonic once I'm solvent again, but I kinda agree it doesn't make a lot of sense when you can get a hand-built Mercian for about the same price, if not a bit less... Horsey for coursey...

Yeah it's true, some people just love Japanese frames I guess...including me :)
-
• #34
you just love the fact it looks a bit interesting/incongruous because it has the name of huge electronics multi-national plastered on it.
i can't see anything else about the frame which makes it so unique to be worth importing from the other side of the world? -
• #35
didn't you notice the njs stamp on the BB? people will pay double for that.
-
• #36
Very true, the regulations for NJS are so unbelieveably strict that it means a lot of work has gone into making them, that and the fact that most factories have one builder and they are from the other side of the world makes them rare as hen's teeth over here which is an incentive to some people I suppose

What can you get from Tour De Ville for that money? Something sweet I shouldn't wonder.
-

Dunno about you lot but the more unobtainable something is, the more attractive I find it... Not ashamed to say it's led me into all kinds of nonsense/hi-jinx in the past... Buying a custom Panasonic is a potentially stupid exercise, the minute you get on it and start riding the sexy thing you'll realise it's only a bike and you coulda got something way better for half the money... e.g. My Sparton, which cost me 75 notes at a bike jumble, is the most fun bike I've ever had, puts a smile on my face every day... Love it, absolutely love it!

They are a lot of money, but I really like them!
Love the dropouts and the crazy seatpost clamp.

mate, just get yourself a raleigh lizard. fuck the fancy track frames, it's all about cheapo early 90s mtb frames, fixed.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with the factory directly? I've looked at njs blogspot and the panasonic frames that they're advertising are fully custom and quite a bit more expensive...

I was totally using that joke and you stole it then I wanted to rep you for using my joke first but it wouldn't let me. That's rep karma for stealing my shitty jokes! :P

I emailed them a few months ago and got a flat 'no overseas sales' in pigeon English... You may have to ask a kindly Japan-based forumenger for some help on this one, I think pete was offering a while back...

Panasonic frames are great, except for when people ask you 'why did you put a Panasonic sticker on it?'
