As Ice Cube once put it " today was a good day".
That good infact after a look at metcheck I think I might ride to Newbury tomorrow to see the finish there.Nice to meet you Ant, n RPM Wiggins wasn't racing; it was just his medal procession following the pelaton very closely.

Caspar spelt my name wrong, but I came fourth.
Still a long way from the forums above average though. -

Em and Seb scared the bejeebus out of the nodders we were standing next to whilst watching the race.
Loud, funny-looking with strange bicycles.
My kid liked them though.

I was watching this on ITV4 last night, maybe not paying as much attention to running order as they approached the finish, I was sure a Rock rider has escaped and was in the lead, assured of a win....but young Noggins from Norway one it! Did I doze off or was the coverage just misleading?! Anyone else bothering to watch?
-
• #114
Yes, I was watching it too (been watching all week). The coverage is absolutely rubbish on itv4 - totally misleading camera work, not enough info on GC standings, gaps between bunches etc.
They definitely missed out the bit where the Norwegian Columbia rider pulled Pena back in, just before the end. I was really impressed with the escape he made, having just pretended (possibly) to be knackered. Was gutted that it didn't work out for him.
It's possible that there just aren't enough camera bikes / helicopters to capture all this, but it still could have been edited better so that we knew what was going on. it seemed as if the commentators had no idea either. If there is no effort to make a cohesive program, they might as just well show it live rather than edit it down to a highlights show.
Ah well, I will continue to watch...

thanks Mashton. I thought I might have had a 'funny' turn.
As you say, piss poor by any standards, even if theyre short on cameras its no excuse for the presenters not explaining the outcome clearly. Still, its better than no covergae at all I suppose.
Who'd have thought a few years ago that we'd be able to catch an hour of each ToB stage (and the ToI) but not see any international world football qualifying matches!! -
• #116
ToB coverage is on now ITV4..

• #117
I've been looking forward to this!
Catch up on stage one here: http://www.itv.com/ITVPlayer/Video/default.html?ViewType=5&Filter=101530
Next weekend it comes to London on the same Embankment route as last year, so I'm sure it'll be a good opportunity to watch such heroes as Russell Downing and Wiggo!

Bit of a weird place to have a stage start, but what do I know? Maybe some of them wanted to get married in Gretna or something.
