I bought it yesterday and I think it's great. Soulwax is not your average 'band' though...

The Last Waltz!
the band are the nuts. i can't watch the talking heads bits in the last waltz without cringing tho. apparently scorsesse had a junior interview the band, took the best annecdotes and then had them act them out for the camera. that's why they all look so forced and uncomfortable apart from robbie robertson who's massively coke-engorged ego allows him to ham it up repulsively. it's also got some horrible guest bollocks on it (clapton? neil diamond? van morrison in beige leotard? ewww ewww ewww!) and it's covered in overdubs.
despite all that it's got levon in it which makes it all worthwhile. the classic albums dvd of the "brown album" is really great too. very sad in obvious places. but some great old footage and insights.
i've got loads of band dvds thinking about it actually. i am trying to break yr heart by wilco is great. the gram parsons fallen angel doc is worth watching if you're into him in any way.
i've got the sonic youth corporate ghost dvd, that's fucking great. just all the videos from goo onwards pretty much. looking forward to the early stuff coming out as well.
oh i've got pretty much anything that bob dylan's commiteed to film. the no direction home boxset it fucking great.
i really want to see the devil and daniel johnston and the burn to shine series.

pavement's 'slow century' is very good. i imagine 'behind the scenes with mcfly' isn't quite as entertaining.
Thought I would ask what people think of bands doing this? I say this as I got the Soulwax documentary DVD thing and think it gives a great insight to the band.
Also makes you appreciate the kind of lifestyle that they live. Some good things about it some bad
