There were more fuckwits out this morning than there have been for a very very long time

I noticed that too. More cutting up than than in a pizza kitchen on a Friday evening. What's going on?

I pulled out right to go through the apex of the left hand turn- with my left arm out!- and another cyclist almost T-boned me.

sooo - you overtook someone then cut right in front of them? and despite the descritions the shitter biddy must have been going faster than or very near your speed or she could never have t-boned you?
i'm confused. i'd put you in the wrong there dude.
unless i've misunderstood and you are the biddy. who as far as i can see did nothing other than continue slowly in a straight line and didn't take sufficient emergency avoiding action when the "superfast cannondale" cut her up.

Not sure if its just me and my over sensetive nature, but when this bad shit happens no one ever appears to want to say sorry. Its like their tongue will explode or their head fall off if they admit they were in the wrong. GRRRR it makes my blood boil. We all make mistakes, just some people cant admit it.

Sorry- picture is not really helping to make things clear.
I was in front of the shopper, started slowing as I pulled out to the right with my hand out to the left to indicate that I was going to turn left.
SHopper continued at undiminished speed, so as I turned in they were then in the same place as me.
Essentially they undertook me as I slowed for the turn.I did not cut in front of them, they had been behind me since the lights a way up the road.
(And the labels are not mine!)

To put it another way: you are following a car, a left hand turn is coming up.
The car puts its indicator on showing that it is about to turn left.
Do you:
a) shoot between it and the curb into its intended path
b) wait for it to complete the turn
c) pull out around it to the right and pass it as it turns left??

okay okay! sorry i was only messing with you really. glad you and the biddy are okay.

The scafolding nutter actually shouted abuse at us. This was as we flew over a ramp which led to a skip, both spinning then bursting into flames.

Nearly got killed by a garbage truck this morning. Partly my fault, but I was going straight and he turned into the oncoming traffic, aka me, to turn right. There was quite a lot going on, cabs and other cars trying to get into the road from the side road etc, and I didn't see the indicator or read the truck drivers intention properly and suddenly it was to late to stop. I gave everything and missed it by about 10cm :(
If I get killed, Lord, can it be something else than a garbage truck that takes me out?

some fucker almost slammed into me while he was on his mobile phone just minutes ago on grove rd, i have no idea what he was trying to do as he swerved towards the kerb for no apparent reason, caught up with him a minute later and he was still on the phone even after i'd given him a bollocking... ggrrr!

A big annoyance for me is pricks that try pull a quick u turn when in traffic, rarely, rarely look. Had about two today around London Bridge/St Pauls area today.
And also drivers that don't allow for cyclists on the outside, getting as close to the kerb as possible, even HTW wouldn't get through them kind of gaps, especially with my drops.
Ah well, tiny risered rat fixie on the way soon :P

yeah strange day. I was riding like shit today for some reason. Scraped along a car with the handle bar (underestimated the space in between). No real damage due to fairly thick bar tape but driver was shouting abuse. Then nearly fell over at a traffic light for no real reason... I guess I should sleep more. Or the day was just jinxed.

been working nights this wk, have almost killed myself a few times on the way home... def need more sleep.....and a different job.
I realise that riding on london's fine roads is a dangerous enough experience at the best of times. I reckon there isn't a day that goes by without somebody nearly taking me out. However, this morning took the piss.
Another cyclist and I were riding down a quiet residential street this morning in East London, the next thing a total cnut with a huge scaffold pole walked out into the road in front of us. We both literally ducked under it as there was no time to stop. If I had been looking over my shoulder I would have taken in straight to the throat (insert own joke here) and been clotheslined by a scaffolding pole! It could only have been worse if two guys carrying a large piece of sheet glass had walked out a la Beverley Hills Cop!
