I have to switch to standard html sometimes here in the orifice, as the new version won't load up properly. So give that a shot, or switch back to the old version using the option at the top.

Nope.. gmail is more reliable than my Exchange connection at work.
They can take it down randomly for repairs and stuff so sometimes you will have random fails.
I live with it since it works 99% of the time. -

Ive been usign gmail since the beta invite only stage and have never had any problems with it

The problem was weird in the end the mail ended up sending but the page got stuck on the "sending mail" page so never appeared to send.

just had googlemail offer to change me to @gmail.com, I always just used that anyway, so what's the difference?
anyone else get this today?
-
• #13
Well even if you use gmail.com, all mail you send quotes googlemail.com. That's the only difference I think.
So it caused a few pobs for me when corresponding with places where i registered with a gmail address, and they question why the email they recieve is from googlemail.

warning - if you have an android phone and do the switch, be prepared for a bunch of problems (probably forcing you to reset the phone)

that's good to know. What if someone in the US has the same user name eg fixieprick (@gmail.com)
with someone in the uk fixieprick (@googlemail.com) ?? -
• #16
can't happen. They're linked. If you have a googlemail.com address and sent an email to yourself but used gmail.com it would still go to you.

Horatio's right. it seems they're just changing what the outbound email address will look like.
As I said earlier, I just used @gmail.com all the time anyway.
I'm on a blackberry, I should be fine as it's POP on my email or is that the same as the andriod email service too?
Anyone having problems with googlemail today / last night.
Tried to send a email last night several times, failed tried again this morning twice failed.
Is it just me or anyone else having problems?
Ta.
