Too true Roxy.
I was riding the other day with about 3 ft of gap between me and the curb.
'Fixie Girl' on black and pink fix/ss under cut me as I turned left ploughing into her back wheel and ending up on the floor. She was fine. I told her to fucking look where she was going and learn to ride a bike. I wasn't hurt so rode off but it could have been much worse if cars were involved.
Someone needs to start a 'Hipster Fixie 101' class.
