  • VERY Wrong

    Very Right

  • hiddeous

    stunning

  • now just to get the rear vento built to fixed and about ready to go

  • stephen ....

    definately with the campy's

the hed looks wrong on such a classic looking frame

looking froward to seeing the finished article !

  • yeah i always had my suspicions about the hed being out of place but there was something snapping at me inside to get it when a decent priced clincher fell in my lap,il just keep hold of it for the next project

  • Haven't a clue where to start. And nobody say, try a skip or get some wheels.

File off all the braze-ons, get it sandblasted and get a fresh coat of paint on there (rainbow fade would look sick), get some new decals made for it and then get building!!

    ALTERNATIVELY

    Sell it to me :)

  • Current project: Elswick Soverign, Filed off the braze ons today. Powdercoat coming soon.

English company so I assumed it would take a 68mm BB. Turns out its gonna take a 70mm BB (italian size?). This is the part of the build I struggle with, and I need to find a BB to fit both the bike and a set of Sugino RD cranks.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    TAR!

  • check here
someone might have the same setup

  • Stephen, you wanna sell the HED3?

  • Im thinking at the minute i will keep it for my next build, but if i get skint in the mean time (highly likely) I will let you know

  • Good, first dibs.......is it clincher a tub?

  • or

Really nice. Prefer without the Hed3. You rebuilding the rear onto a track hub?
Looking 4ward to seeing the final build.

  • ^ yup beater sans HED 3, looks beautiful with the Campys!

  • now just to get the rear vento built to fixed and about ready to go

might be interested in the vento rear hub and spokes in case you want to cash in after the rebuild

  • ^ yup beater sans HED 3, looks beautiful with the Campys!

    +1,000,000

HED 3s look great on a modern track frame, but seem out of place on a classic steel lugged set up.

  • Just finished this project up. Its an old C.ITOH frame from Japan (1970's). Velocity deep V's and some random parts. Painted by myself with orig decals remaining. Tell me what you think...

  • well being a fuckking retard i just dented my top tube in a freak household incident (dickhead) i think i inadvertantly promised jos the rear hub off the ventos as they are sorting out the rebuild for me.fingers crossed finally be up and riding again next week.

on hed 3 tip i now need to find a more modern track frame to put it on,il keep my eye on ebay or fingers crossed il make it to jp by end of year so might try find something there.

anyone know if condor still have all white vittorias in?

  • Another plus for me...:)

Oh my god, you killed Storcky, you bastard! :)

    As do the risers.. sigh

  • First post. Hi.

I'll admit i'm a total bike n00b, bought a Spec hybrid 2 months ago and that's pretty much my whole cycling life (apart from a bmx when i was 6 and a short summer of cycling around Nottingham on a battered 2nd hand MTB almost exclusively on cycle paths.)

Anyway, when i started getting into cycling i found this place, and the whole FG/SS idea sounded great. Just finished converting a Raleigh Record i bought off the bay.

    1. Don't worry i expect some abuse (but please, not too much), constructive criticism would be preferred.
    2. BB, Cranks, chainring, pedals and wheels are new, everything else is untouched.
    3. Someone's bound to notice it's a SS at the moment, i've never ridden drops so don't want to throw myself too far into the deep end, hoping to move to FG in a month or so.
    4. If you see a 18stone skinhead riding (wobbling) this thing around London please don't shout "do a skid" as it's likely to make me fall off.
  • Very nice and tastefully done!
Maybe worth riding around a tesco car park whilst quiet to get used to the feel of your new steed.

    Enjoy.

  • Aende Lo-Pro frame courtesy of Simpson79, built it up a bit so far . .

    Awaiting:

    Chris King headset
    Sugino Zen chainring, anodised red
Black non machined H Plus Son front rim laced to red Hope Pro 3 hub

And a bit of luck getting a chain to fit!

  • very bendy tubes mr villain - you getting rid of the condor in the background then :^]
