maybe this is too helpful but:
a) It's witcombe that does the repairs not vas, to my understanding.
b) Arkay aka ross at brixton cycles is a fine braiser and builds /repairs
c) Super Ted is repairing frames really nicely now these days as well - you can find him at the bricklane polo court - or ask andy of fglondon as I believe they all live in the same space stillSo three options other than getting a new frame...

I can't help but feel that almost 50% of posts on this forum are extremely unhelpful.
And no doubt ill get some flaming for posting this reply too.As for the frame breakage I would either get it repaired or get a new frame.
The fact that the frame has snapped in that place could indicate that it will snap in other places too due to age. -

honestly, I'm sure it'll polish out

How old is the frame? If it's newish, fix it, obviously. If it's older, I'd still tend towards fixing it though that'd depend on how well it fit me.
Oh, and it's broken at the brazing, should be easy enough to repair I would have thought.

He may very well be, but it's a bike frame, not a steak... ;-)

I reckomn the latter actually, there doesn't appear to be a jagged edge on the chainstay bit. Not that it's particularly easy to tell in that blurry photo.

...because you've got an extra big toe where your thumb should be?

Yeah, its broke at the brazing so it may well be pretty easy to fix it as a short term thing at least, the frame is pretty ancient so i doubt it'll stay together for that much longer anyway. Still, I got 2 years good riding out of it, and if I get it patched up it'll probably keep going for a little bit longer.
I was gonna get a new frame sometime anyway, just I was kinda hoping to keep this old beast on the road as well.
My bike was squeaking a bit. I thought maybe it needed oiling, then I had a closer look. The frame's snapped! Not sure if there's anything I can do about this. Oh well.
