if i am right you need to get a one peice bottom bracket, and use that, and then tighten the bottom bracket the same as you would a normal cup and cone bottom bracket(ie the old style 3 pc ones on road/mtb bikes).Hope that makes sense!

yes... but can i get a one piece bottom bracket in anything other than usa size? where will i get a euro bb cup like that?
-

you might be able to bodge one of the fashined cup and cone bottom brackets to run with that. You need to try a prope bike shop, not an evans etc.they are not much, and you just need to bodge things

aha.. how about cotterless bb sets?
-
• #15
You may have some difficulty with a file, due to the hardness of the material.
-
• #16
i think you're right.. file wont work, its not even 19mm width by the looks of things, cotterless at my lbs tomorrow and we shall see

you horrible, filthy, leprous, fly-by-night, bmxing, fixed-wheel bandwagon-jumping harlots.
ok,
have had some experiences with bmx bbs,
USA bb... large shel - big enough to fit a 1 peice crank through, almost always unsealed
euro bb shell - same as most european mtb/road, shimano bbs are euro threaded and width, many bmx are the same allowing you to run primo excel cranks for example on a mstandard mtb or road frame
so... i bought some cheap cranks of ebay.. (very cheap) 3 piece with an 8 spline bb and some washers/unsealed caged loose bearings etc
but.. the spindle has threads!! either side of the splines wear the bearing would normally sit. but no cups... how do i mount these to the frame?
are these designed for a usa bb? can i get a cup to mount the crank on on a euro bb?
i am confused. help me.
crap pic...
