  • These are for BMX. Not sure if they will work for fixed. They also give you the problem that when you want to take the chain off you cant move the wheel in to make the chane slack. Plus the problem of how long the chain is and how many links you need.

  • yeah i know there for bmx only thing i can think of is axle size that would stop fixed using them.
surely to take the chain off you just pop these out with ya key or something

  • Only problem is if you don't have enough extra thread on your axle, e.g. if you have thick dropouts for example..?

    1. undo track nut completely
    2. remove device
    3. slide wheel forward and remove chain

  • Are you sure they come in 10mm as most BMX rear hubs are 14mm hence not good for Fixed wheels.

Of course you can. Undo the nut and pop them out of the dropout, wheel moves forward into the dropout, chain becomes slack. Job done.

My only concern would be chain stretch (even pre-stretched chains stretch somewhat) and needing to adjust the washers as the chain stretched out.

I was just thinking that. I serpose you just undo the bolts and push them out the side. I think most BMX dropouts are for 14mm (I wouldn't run a 10mm on the back) but simple are a trails company with an emphasis on light parts so they may do a 10mm. Could be good. I dont have track ends so wouldn't use then on my fixed but might try on my BMX. Give them a go and see what happens. If they work you will be the talk of the town. If not then dont mention it again and you wont lose any face. Win win!

yeah, they'll be 14 won't they. nice idea though.
