Ah, I know what this is.
Clicking "Posts" in the top left will only show you the last 24 hours.
Clicking "New Posts" under "Quick Links" will show you everything.
It's a performance decision, 99% of times that Posts is clicked people are only looking at page 1, so I don't perform a query that would fetch all 270,000+ posts.
There you go, you're not stupid, multi grooves can be disappointed, and we can all go about our merry way.
