I'll be honest, although I am hankering after one of these SunRace Sturmey Archer 3spd fixed hubs, it just seems a little bit against the spirit of the purity of fixed and singlespeed cycling.
True, it is fixed, but surely the purpose of single cog riding is that there is so much less to go wrong? How many people will feel qualified to take apart this 3spd hub and repair it themselves? At the moment, with singlespeed cycling, there is really only the chain, cog and chainring to worry about in the drivetrain.
I think its a great idea, but also, with more things to go wrong................................?
