Track wheel set

I just bought a new frame that i plan to build up into something to look after and when the season comes around to take down to herne hill.

i want to get a decent wheel set for it. i was looking at the mavic ellipse and found them for a decent price, anyone heard anything good or bad about them or could anyone recommend anything?

we had a pair pf the miche wheelset for prizes (Thanks Condor) for Rollapaluza XI....looked preety good and comparable to the ellipse..

they'd be nice as a pure track wheel, for sure.

but if I was planning to do more road work on them than just the ride to and from the velodrome, then I'd probably build something up with standard spokes on CXP33s or DT1.2s just for ease of repairabilty...

the ellipse wheelset are quite stiff i don't think i would want to ride them on the road much.

for daily use at bargain price and got 10 out 10 in cycling plus , halo track wheels .
more weather proof than pure track wheels if you are going to use on the street , run mine for two months and cant believe how good they are .
