    How big are your shoes if they hit before the pedals?

    1. I only roll with non-clipless, tried spds, ended badly

    2 & 3. Id been wearing onitsuka tigers on my bike, which are fairly chunky. They pushe out towards the side wuite a bit, the pedal strap wrapped around my shoe is the bit that strikes.

    If I go back to wearing vans for example, because the shoes are slimmer, I can get the straps a lot tighter too, and they be perhaps 2cm saved.
