after getting hooked on the Alleycatz NYC vids on the tube have tried a friends fixie and although I nearly killed myself and chucked various limbs of mine over the bars all in one go !, I have to say i'm hooked it feels so direct and just 'right' ...... so gonna look at going singlespeed on the Record first then try it fixed..... maybe if brave enough
do it man - I would recommend you forget the singlespeed stage though and just go for it with the fixed...good on yer for getting back on your bike too!

Hello All,
I bought a Langster last year some time and have really enjoyed riding fixed. Due to the fact I can't justify forking out a load of cash on a new fixie I've decided to convert said Langster into something a bit more credible, bit by bit.
This is where I made my first mistake, well second after buying an otp! Bought some new bullhorns at lunchtime and realised they are too thin for my stem - not a huge issue, I'll knock up a ghetto shim. However, I realised that it doesn't seem possible to remove the bloody break leavers without actually breaking them, they're encased. Looks like a trip to ebay for a bmx beak lever for me then!
Anyway, I look forward to being abused for my bike, mistakes.

A new frame doesn't have to cost a massive pile of cash
-

Well it's the wheels that I'm worried about. Speaking of frames though, I was checking out ebay which has a track frame for about £75 buy it now - delivery is £140 though ha ha!

Hi all
I have been tempting to ride fix again for a while, now I finally got a frame (A Raleigh Banana 531) and the devotion to do it. Last time I did was when I lived in Holland on a old Gazelle thing...
Anyway, I will be very active here to find parts for my first build, I run a second hand records shop in Hackney Wick, so if any of you into music and have the parts I need, I am happy to trade.

BRAKE
Peel back the rubber shroud (tee hee) from the top. You insert an allen key into a hole up here to undo the brake levers.

Hurr, hurr, 'shroud'. Uncharacteristically helpful of you, my man. Methinks you need to harden the fuck up...

+1 RPM.. if something goes wrong with it or you need parts, best to have help close by rather than miles away. Logical innit?
