  • anyone gonna sell a laptop Mac. Power book G4 15" or a Macbook soon please do let me know. Send me a message. I have been searching for ages on ebay and it is not working out too well. Just incase someone out there (trustworthy please) is thinking of selling one ok , Cool.

  • be warned...my house mate got stitched up on the bay while attempting to purchase a G5.

  • thanks aidan, I dont think I will do ebay, 2 sellers already turned out to be frauds on winning bids, not worth it. thanks for the warning though. Thought I would try in here.

  • not got one to sell but i know a guy who sells them pretty cheap from new? pm if your intersted

  • Hook me up Mr Skoota, a moron spilt wine on mine rendering it useless... Cheap is good, how cheap?

  • There is a little place just by Goodge Street that sells older Macs might be worth a try...think the street is maybe Tottenham Street

  • Thanks dopecasio any idea what the shop may be called?? Will pm you skoota.

Tot Court Road yes, and it's too expensive, it's a Mac after all.

  • I can get you one for only £1,400.

I don't I am afraid...I can check next time I am up there but won't be for a week or so. WIll have a look in there see what they have if you like, but depends how urgently you need it for.

  • I have an old Powerbook G4 15" aluminium from spring 2004. 1.33 PowerPC processor, 512 MB RAM, 60GB HD. Still running OS X 10.3 Panther.

It's not in great shape... it can't seem to hold a charge, probably needs a new battery. It overheats, but it's possible that might be fixed with a new battery. It could use some extra RAM as well, but the model is so old that it might be difficult to find, and expensive.

I used it quite heavily throughout 2004 and 2005 when I was at uni (I'm a computer programmer). After uni, I mainly used it for lightweight stuff like web surfing, photos, downloading music, etc, until I got a Macbook Pro a few months ago. The old Powerbook definitely has problems, but I survived on it ok... I guess it depends on what you want to use it for.

You need to bear in mind, though, that the Mac software made by Apple these days all run on the Intel-based machines (Macbook and later). So if you get a Powerbook G4, you'll be stuck using older software versions.

I'm not sure how much I'd sell it for, but it'd be cheap-ish, given that it's got some issues. If you're interested, I'll even take it to the Apple store and see if they can give it a quick check-up and identify all the problems. PM me if you're interested...

  • well, there will be new models, with better bang for the "pound" as right now, so just till they are out and all further model-used-prices drop once again.

!It's just about two weeks, sth. like that.
