Is it an Archies one?
Why the fuck didn't I think of that?
Nah, my mate gave me one that he bought and used once as his wrists were too skinny. It's made by six six one. I like it purely for the fact it doesn't have a thumb loop to get in the way of the bars/mallet like most o0f them seem too. It's actually pretty nice to wear once you've worked out the requisite tightness. There have been a few occasions where I've made my hand go blue though.

People who want bamboo should go source some from elsewhere, because when I went to go cut it up with my hacksaw, I found that my flatmate had thrown it out.

Not enough folk to play at 7pm tonight, so the football boys took over the court by the time we all arrived. We managed a few half-decent games at the basketball court in the estate across the road, but i think we need to be at the Upton/Downham Rd. early to claim the court in future.
p.s. Ali, good to meet you tonight. And Jo.

Breaking news - I've found an awesome winter court.
Half way along Central Street, on the West side (i.e. left if coming from Old Street, or right if coming from City Road). It's meant to close at 8pm/10pm depending on the time of year, but a fence panel is missing so constant access.
Good surface, flood lit. FTW.
Also, it is true. I do have Mike's ball.

is this the finsbury leisure centre? those courts are in constant use on most evenings for five-a-side.

No, about 200m further up the road and on the otherside.
Also, I'd assume that we'd play across the court, which would mean that we'd only be using half of it (there are Bricklane style goal posts if we do this). If we played up the court, we could probably do 5 a side (there are full size football goals in this case).
This will all make sense once people have checked it out.
