  • Funny thing this secret sale...I recived my notification email this morning...my girlfriends boss who is pretty loaded and obviously contribues to the Rapha coffers more frequently than I do got his last week....wouldnt mind but the savings are pretty pissy anyway......

  • ^To the barricades!^

  • mdizzle - haven't got any track frames, sorry - try Jos/Keith from Tour de Ville, or Andy from Fixed Gear London

  • Tom Simpson was sponsored by Rapha, the original brand. Dunno if they bought the rights to it or resurrected it.

Whatever. Pay your money take your choice. Mac or Microsoft, Campag or Shimano, Rapha or Assos.

  • Tom Simpson was sponsored by Rapha, the original brand.

    Vraiment?

  • Vraiment?

Within two months, Simpson had won five races and in July 1959 was offered terms by two professional teams; he decided to join the Rapha Geminiani team...

  • In terms of Classic performances, 1963 and 1965 were probably Simpson's best years. Riding in the distinctive black-and-white colours of the Peugeot BP team. in 1963, he won the gruelling motor-paced event Bourdeaux-Paris, was second in Paris-Brussels and Paris-Tours, third in the Ronde van Vlaanderen, 8th in Paris-Roubaix, and 10th in both La Flèche Wallonne andGiro di Lombardi.

    Easy, tiger...

  • These boys make nice jerseys and they ship directly from the factory in Switzerland if you ask them nicely http://www.vintagevelos.com/clothing1.html

of course if you prefer 'pink' then you probably won't like this stuff

  • ^As do these chaps: http://www.solocc.com/

  • Also, I maintain that the lack of a women's range is problematic, in my humble opinion.

Yes, this is one of the things that annoy me most about Rapha. It means it's impossible for me to make a statement by refusing to buy any of their clothing.

  • it is a bit odd.

pink trim bra + pants set, crotchless bib tights, the possibilities are endless.

they took ages getting her legs like that it's so you can superinpose your bell-end there in some sicko micro-midget lycra fantasy.*

buddha, do you mean vintage velos will ship from the factory in switzerland to save shipping costs from USA?

  • the team was indeed sponsored by St Raphael and for at least one season were actually called "Rapha" and the jersey just said "Rapha" too....think it was Wayne who posted the jerseys somewhere on this here forum....oh, here they are on this page: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread6627-2.html

VC St Raphael did also adopt the name, think my dad mentioned it was because they got a load of free St Raphael jerseys....then just stuck with it.

It's cos women only actually ride bikes in order to attract men. Of course.

(And I am even less impressed with Rapha after this evening's shambles ride.)
