  • got a new (unridden) brooks b17 standard in honey, chopped and tied over the weekend, up for grabs. cut high, like a swallow, bevelled sides, tied in the middle using a stainless steel spoke (clean looking, very high tensile strength). made it for my wife, but she doesn't like the colour, she apparently wanted the black one i made for myself... so i just want to sell this one so i can get another.
    pm me with offers.
    cheers. under offer...

    Just saw this^ Paul.

Its called a Lycett swallow. They're standard classic British lightweight saddles, very nice. Here's one on Classic Lightweights, its been blocked out (reshaped to flatten out that worn-in dip) very nicely... somthing I had not very much luck with on my one, but will try again.

  • Hassan, can you tell me/us how you achieved the chamfered/bevelled edge on that chop?

  • Thats the exact one that I have. I am slowly waxing it to bring the leather back to life but tis a sweet old thing.

  • What you using? I have a lot of chafed bits on mine, have been using this scuff coat for shoes but it rubs off quite quickly, back to square one. Are you going to block it out?

  • just cut at a 45 degree angle with a steady hand and super sharp blade. You can kind of shave the chamfered shape once the cut has been made. It's pretty straight forward to do if you are good with you mits

  • Oh ok all about skills with the stanley. Cheers
