  • just now a car swerved into my lane, no harm done but I went to see them as they had stopped by the lights. They were four of them and gave me big smiles and huge apologies. They explained that the lady driver was Polish and new in London (they were in a Polish car).
    I forgave them instantly :)

So refreshing not to be greeted with a torrent of abuse, both sides.

    I love people like that.

couple weeks ago in Wimbledon, a Ford MPV drove past me so close that the mirror hit my shoulder really hard (got a tiny bruise but nothing serious, the lady slow down almost instantly, parked and got out with a "I am so sorry! I didn't realise I was too close to you! is your shoulder alright?", while I was kinda expecting an "you shouldn't be cycling near the middle of the road!" (which I kinda was since there were car parking and I was going fast, better to have a good distance from the parked car and myself to avoid door opening unexpected), especially considering this women is a posh 30-something mother in an huge expensive Ford (those performance MPV bollocks).

I was rather happy to see that respond, that before we parted, I thanked her for being concerned.
