    Q: http://www.londonfgss.com/thread9294.html
A: Thanks I found it very ammusing

He knows now. Someone clued him in!

But at least he's still replying to questions.

  • Ha

  • Hold on a fucking moment.

    Current bid 69p.

    P&P costs £1.99

That means the spoke costs more than one from an lbs and the P&P is about the same as the bus fare to go and get it. FFS we shouldn't be harrasing that rather savvy, if patient, entrepeneur, we should find out who the buyer is and beat them with sticks.

  • hehe. 55 questions. excellent.

  • Bah ha ha ha 3 pages of them.

    Can anyone suggest another target?

  • yeah I'm starting to feel sorry for that dude.

What about the $1000 BIN crankset guy?

  • I got confused thinking it was the Bob Jackson seller and absently mindedly mailed this:

    Dear sir,
please could you tell me if the frame would be suitable for alpine riding? I live in the fairly mountainous region of North London and so require a lightweight climbing steed. Do you have the weight of the bike? Would it be possible for you to weigh the bike and then add on the weight of some other component's (like wheels seatpost and handle bars ) so I could better work out if it will be light enough for the challanging conditions here. How many bottle cage lugs does the frame have and can you mount gears to it?
    Many Thanks, J
To which I got this reply:

I would estimate it to weigh in the vicinity of 8 kg fully mounted ready to ride away. the single speeds climbing ability woukld depend on the amount of teeth on the chain ring & on the cogs that you choose. the ratio so to speak. & of course the strength in your legs & how powerful you are. If you are not into self torture & mutilation you might be better of finding a suitable road bike with 12 gears rather than a single speed bike.
track bikes are a "state of mind". i love them. you might do alright in North London but you would have to be geared correctly & of course stopping is the other thing you have to consider. it is life threatening if you are not experienced with brakeless single speed bikes out on the public roads.
No lugs on this frame, no gears.
think realistically on what is suitable for you.
    best of luck,

  • aww, that's kinda sweet and helpful. Like posting one's first noob question on here really, only without the four letter words.

  • Monday..

  • haha

  • ha ha ha ha

  • Haven't laughed so hard in ages.

  • have to admit i posted this thread without thinking it would turn into such a hilarious follow through.
DAmn! the guys on here are genius !! Well played, good game.

  • A guy at my work actually bought the bike first mentioned here and it doesn't seem a bad deal for £140. I think he got a good deal. He actually careened past me tonight and seemed very happy. Brick Lane are selling what is essentially the same for £400 more. They may have smoothed some edges and applied their expert wrapping skills with the bar tape but it this, and the labour worth the mark up? ... nah.

    just asked:
Hi i am interested in your wheel reflectors.
Just wondering if they have the (now) standard 43degrees of reflection angle or the older now obsolete reflection angle of 37degrees more common in the 1900s?
    thanks

the questions and answers aren't showing up the page though?!?
