Staionary Bike training plan?

Posted on
  • Hello. Just wondered if anyone had ever followed a training plan on an exercise bike and if they'd share it with me.
I'm getting an exercise bike for free from Gumtree tomorrow as I had surgery on my wrist this week and I won't be able to ride for another couple of months.
But I don't know how to get the most out of it. I mean, its gonna be pretty boring so I might at least try and get really fit....

  • Yo can't ride for a couple of months? you going to be ok in october? Hows ya feeling hon?

  • Plan number one - make sure you've got a big fan placed in front of the stationary bike.

  • I'm not sure how long I'll be off the bike - the doctor said 6 - 8 weeks for full recovery.
Em - I'll be healed for Berlin! Yay! Might not be popping wheelies but need to make sure I kick your arse at the velodrome!

  • It's boring, so keep it short and high effort, listen to music, and adjust your "intervals" to the music, alternatively set up the bike in front of the telly and do it in fornt of you favourite daily half hour soap (or other program)

  • Hi Julio, im not sure if this will be useful at all, but if you can follow a session the time goes much quicker. Also, as Winston says, try and get some music on, it can help with motivation.

you could just use this for ideas and maybe make up your own session for the time you have or the type of effort you fancy. Cheers J

  • Cool. Thanks, that looks useful.
Will definitely have the music on and with no mercy for my neighbours. I'm gonna make them pay for playing 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' on repeat at 4am

  • Argh!! The humanity!
As revenge you could train with University Challenge on tv - full volume.
Sprint 20 seconds every time there is a 'starter for ten'

  • Anthony and the Johnsons really loud, make them think they have a ghost.

If you want extra resistance, just drag one of your neighbours out of their flat, and push their face up against the flywheel.
