yeh totally, pending a sudden realisation that i'm far too shit to do this, an ask for some brake cable and outer is a little further down the line. about 20cm length for the outer and 30cm for the cable, ball on one end, if you fancy saving me from myself. :)

I think one of the very numerous reasons for the comments come from your choice of gear, you should probabnly stay under 70 inches for brakeless, think 47/18 or smaller to have any kind of proper control.

ok, noted.
now looking for a 19t sprocket, though brake cable might be better advised.

I ride 47*17 brakeless but I can't recommend it. Especially not for your first brakeless experience.
Learn to spin on something easy like 50*14 then move to a higher gear if/when you feel comfortable. -

don't want to high jack this thread.
(but i'm looking for a 17tooth 1/8" rear track cog so pm me if you have) -

may i recommend 17:44, as recommended by the smashing bloke in brixton cycles who tells me he came 4th in the world skidding championships or something. it's almost bang on 70 gear inches, a shade under, great gear for brakeless riding, won't mash your knees to bits.

No its not, its 10 gear inches, 44 17 would be 70 though :-)
following the death of a frame i'm now attempting to go brakeless.
i think this fooloish but fuck it as having a front brake did a world of fucking good.
i'm currently riding with 48/16 gearing which is very silly for tyre wear purposes, so need a 17t rear fixed sprocket.
anyone have anything of that description lying around?
also a 47t front chainring would have a similar effect.
chain width is 1/8 inch.
will pay for the pleasure but nothing too pricey as i may as well buy something simple from a lbs.
cheers
