I remember the powercuts because the miners were always on strike and all then there was heath and callahan and foot governments which seemed to be a masterclass in inepitutude in the 70's it was really dire the country was going down the fucking toilet thatcher might have been an evil minded bitch but she did get the country back on its feet or so it seemed at the time I can't honestly say that i liked her she just used to make me laugh the way she spoke down to everyone was unbelievable anyone remember the poll tax riot that was one of the best days I ever had in my life half the west end up in flames I hear you big daddy wayne I can sympathize but the welsh valleys are a world away so it is hard to empathise and steel and coal would have died anyway globalization makes it cheaper to simply buy that stuff in but that doesn't make it any less hard on your folk and I am sorry for the pain that they had to go through in London at that time it was quite quite different
