If you had time to pull a skid, you had time to manically grab the front brake and throw yourself head over heels into the wall.

This is what I would've done in your shoe.

That way you injure yourself severely, which gives you an animal instinct to not do it again, and the bike has a greater chance of survival!

Yeah well, I've crashed a fair bit in my time, and have yet to damage my frames in any way. the only dents my frame have were there when I got it, or were caused by a stray polo ball (and I wasn't even playing).
