Hi there, I actually live in Brazil at the moment, but in São Paulo. Yes, there is a velodrome in Curitiba (one of the three that exist in Brazil) as it's the "home" of Brazil's track cyclists.
I don't know much about Curitiba, but I'm sure Gabriel Nogueira, owner of http://rodafixa.blogspot.com (a fixed gear blog) in Curitiba, will be thrilled to be contacted. He is one of us (like myself) UK-Brazil roamers, so yes he rides fixed and speaks english.
The cycling scene here in Brazil is confined only to Road, MTB and BMX so most never heard of fixed gear bikes before, so be sure to bring your gear over, as you won't find much around here.
You can contact me if you have any other doubts too... Cheers!
P.S.: Yes this is my first post, but I've been watching you guys for a while... Nice to meet you all!
