In the end I don't see why we should change for new members - the 'culture' of FGSS is what makes this place what it is, but agree that particularly vicious attacks (of which I don't think there have been many - and most I think are understandable given the alias issue raising tensions) should stop.
In a nutshell, take it or go home. There are enough responsible people here to recognise when things have gone too far. I'm still new, but I expect the bullshit, I enjoy the bullshit, and wouldn't still be here if that wasn't the case.
