  • Yeh i get that. Took my fixed on a club ride and did 50/60miles on it. Went on a hilly route, a guy on a full carbon geared bike said to me "were going to some hills, your on a fixed i'll tell you what its like to change gear to make it easier"
    I went past him and pretty much the rest of the group whilst going up the hills, was faster into a headwind aswell.
    They werent laughing then.
    I normally get people look at my bike as i ride past spinning, been asked if it was fixed before if they have caught up at traffic lights. Some think its strange that someone on an old 531 frame with one gear can come past them on a geared bike.
    Love riding fixed, but when theres long downhills or a tailwind and i'm in a group thats on geared, its hard to keep up with them when they pick the speed up.
