Wouldnt it have been a lot easier to bend the piece of metal? Also is it hardened at all? Regular mild steel is piss easy to saw through. What locking mechanism are you using, perhaps it wouldve been cheaper to get an existing lock and shortened the bar? Just some thoughts, making stuff is cool. yes hardend silver steel also at work we got a heat treatin oven hehe 20 mins gas mark 50000
