Sorry, just re-read the title. 135mm is enormously wide for a BB, are you sure that's true. As far as I have found out 120mm is the widest Campag provide and that is from the eighties. 135mm must be for a triple chainset, in which case depending on your frame you might have chain line problems, or have to dish your rear wheel.

Sorry, I appear to have been extra tired last night when i wrote that. My current double chainring setup has a BCD of 135, and I have just purchased a new crankset (just the cranks) which is 144, both are Campy, and I wondered if I would likely have to replace the BB, b/c I don't know if the measurement for that changes depending on the measurement of the BCD. Maybe I'm asking a needless question, but I just dunno! Thanks for the response, though.

Ack! I've still been super confusing! Current BCD 135, new BCD 144, BB measurement unknown. There.

Depends what cranks they are. Maybe yes, maybe no. 135 'suggests' road double, 144 'suggests' track specific, so 'possibly' you old road double cranks used a 102mm bb and your new track cranks will need a 111mm bb, if its all campag. But it is tough to say given the info.

Yeah, you're right. Thanks! In case you'd care to know more, I'll inundate you with info.
Mid-80s Bianchi, double chainring road setup, Campy drivetrain. 135 BCD.
Converted to ss (16t cog), bought vintage Campy Super Record cranks with BCD of 144 and looking for pista or chorus 44t chainring.
44t/16t is just fine by me, that's my preference.
Also, does anyone know whether I'm likely to have to change my BB if my current double chainring setup is Campy at 135?
