The only way I think you can get this taken seriously (and this is only my opinion) is if you put this on a tabard/vest (possibly even fluoro, controversial eh). Otherwise it does run the risk of being regarded as a fashion stunt.
Plenty of horseriders wear tabards saying 'please pass slow and wide' which are generally effective (I know this, I've ridden since I was 4). Something like 'I am a deaf cyclist (hearing aid sign), please be aware/etc'. Apologies if that sounds in any way patronising but I think if you're serious about doing it, the most effective way is by wearing something that is a bit more officious.
