The hub is aluminium, cant be welded, but the guy managed to erm.... 'smoosh' the metal of the hub around the sprocket so it cant come off, the sprocket remains unharmed too, ive not ridden it yet as i need pedals but ive tried to get the sprocket off with a chain whip and couldnt, i think it will hold till i can afford a new wheel at least.
