Head up - Cheap helmets for small heads

  • Just got a helmet through from http://www.onyourbike.co.uk seems all their size small giro's are crazy cheap. Got an Giro E2 in black for 27 quid! Not sure if it is this years or probably more likely last years model, says manufactured Jul 07 in the back, but who the hell cares, they are soooo cheap, loads of other models too, including crazy TT style one.

    Have fun people.

I need a new helmet but I have a damn large head, perhaps a casserole or large saucepan may be better. A colander might even do.

  • THANKS gizmond for the heads up,got a giro pneumo and mini evo thru post this morning

  • Do you think this'll go with my Nike Dunk Spd's ?

  • yea DFP you can holster your GLOCK in it as well lol

  • On a more serious note, I should probably get a helmet.

Anyone spotted an all white one with peak for £20?

  • peaks are for mtb'ers

  • Not that cheap TBH...

I posted that over a week ago, when prices where E2 was 27 quid, as was the advantage and a couple of other, atmos was about 37 quid.

    Short term offer

  • peaks are for mtb'ers

    cant see why specifically?

  • riding position.

on a racer (on the drops) your head is pointing downwards, your eyes are at the top of their movement. A peak obstructs this view. (this is why cycling caps have small peaks that can be flipped up)

on a mountain bike, you sit upright, a peak helps to keep rain and forest shite off your glasses/out of your eyes. Riding a woodland trail on a sunny day often gives you a rapidly changing light as you move under different densities of tree cover, a peak helps even things out for your eyes.

obviously this isn't true in everyone's case, but it's a generalisation

  • I currently wear a baseball cap when riding to keep drizzle of my glasses. It doesnt obstruct me, but I have to do it up real tight as it can blow off.

  • the e2 black/carbon size small is still 28 quid.

cheaper than a crash replacement.. bargain.
