depends on your style of shooting, what you shoot, where you go...
for street stuff I'll use a crumpler fux deluxe with padded bucket, for events, a lowepro nova 5
If you're off to scotland, get a backpack, your back will thank you.
canvas bags are cool but wont keep dust out and aren't well enough padded (well I've never seen one that is). You HAVE to try them out, forget about on line reviews. You might as well google "which saddle".
