i've left my bike outside dingwalls many a time, railing by the lock, right outside a bar, use a fat chain (which you have). i usualy lock it on the lock side of the railing, think it might confuse the kid bike stealing scum a little more. seriously you can pretty much leave a bike anywhere if you lock it with a fat enough lock. its not like gold plated pope-mobile you ride is it?
