kevlar or foam infused tyres do well, and are essential in London.
Lots do em, more expensive, heavier, but it prevents those dreaded punctures.
my back one has a sizeable tear but its all good because it has the extra puncture protection.
this hole looks innocuous but it actually would have caused a puncture had it not the foamy bits inside the tyre.
Thats not really a tear, my tires have those everywhere.. that's quite normal for a tire that has been used for more than a few weeks :) imho.
This summer i have been eating through two Rubino's and are now running a TriComp on the rear, always with kevlar tire liners.. and a nice light ca. 200g racing tire on my front, lots of cuts in the rears.. only had one puncture when my front Open Pro cut up on a broken bottle last weekend.. now I'm running a Schwalbe Ultremo on the front, feels nice but it seems to pick up way more shit than the Open Pro did.
