we did rock climbing, "garden law" wtf? and a few others, it was a regular friday afternoon thing.
some of you took big bites and need to HTFU.
you lycra wearing pansies.
invite them to the BBQ and they can join in the arm wrestling and have a burger, of course they won't be able to drink..

I'm inclined to agree - it's things like this that make me feel a little embarrassed to be a member of an internet forum. I'd much rather people didn't take the bait and either let the thread sink or ignore the comments.
Granted it can be fun sometimes, but I get the feeling a few of you were investing slightly more in your replies than was probably necessary. Let's be honest, it's not like they're suddenly going to see the light is it?

think i got a wee bit annoyed by it really being a biker and a cyclist and then these views of supposedly like minded bikers.i just find it rather sad that they came over here for a bitch fight. but ho hum i have calmed down now thanks to the ride home.

I think it's a bit like the staff from Woolworth's going into WHSmith and shouting "FW you pansies!"
It's not a world I understand.

Sorry about that everyone- did not think that the biker fraternity would come in up in arms.
Rather ironically I have always quite liked motorbikes, but like anything you get the odd rider/driver etc that should never be allowed to use that form of transport again.
I reported the biker to the cops yesterday evening, and will update if anything happens, but as I don't have a witness I doubt anything will happen.
Thanks all.

Best thing you can have done- the po po do take that shit seriously IME.
Its best to keep a zen like cool though there are to many driving/cycling/riding time bombs and most peoples reaction to being criticised is to be aggressive. -

alls well that ends well.
i think that, in the event of a forum raid, it is ones duty to repel boarders

I know I'm going to get laughed at for my youthful idealism, but can't we have a forum or a thread somewhere where cyclists and bikers can discuss things as fellow road users, rather than opponents? For example, I've always been a bit bothered in jams when there's a motorbike sitting right up against a gap between buses that I want to filter through. I mentioned this to a biker friend and he said it had never even occurred to him that this might be annoying, but that he would try and leave a bit more room in future. And I can only assume that there are annoying things I do on my bike that I'm not even aware of. I don't really want to get into a fight over them, and if someone asked me to stop, I probably would (unless it was something ludicrous, like keeping off the road altogether).
Hmmm, perhaps this is more of a C+ comment...

My opinion: The majority of motorcyclists (not scooter riders) make up the best drivers on the road (probably as a result of the highest fatality rate). My father is a an old hells angel and aside from the obvious bikes he also owns a sports bike (Suzuki GSXR1000 MotoGP)... I've a lot of time for bikers. He's also got a lot of time for fixed-wheel cyclists. We share a view that each mode of transport and the lifestyle surrounding it is right for it's time and place. We also think that there is a lot of overlap and similarities in the things that draw us to our choice of transport and the community around it: freedom, love of machinery, people... the almost off-grid lifestyle as well as being out on the road feeling the seasons.
With that in mind, I wanted to say that within both biker and cyclist communities there are some absolute cunts on the road. And neither community should attempt to defend those individuals just because of a similarity in transportation choice.
I think overall we should follow a general thing that says 2 wheels = good, 4 wheels = bad. Though obviously I think we can all agree to make exceptions for recumbents and scooters.
Anyhow, I enjoyed rick-rolling a whole forum yesterday. I was laughing throughout. And yes, some people on both sides took the whole thing way too seriously.

Its the same in everything. The arseholes in the said community give them as a whole a bad name. The biker in this thread did something wrong and immidiatly were all branded "Cunts". Likewise some of you run red lights, so we all brand yuo the same.
We all know in reality its not really like that. Everywhere has its knob jockeys.
Yesterday was a laugh, But my insurance is still valid ;)
Moped Riding Chav Cunts should be pushed under thenm big double deckers you have down there.. 100 points for each one!
Also, as a motorcyclist, i aggree it makes me a better driver, and any other dirver who also rides. If it were upto me, id make everyone do at least 6 months on a bike.. They'd soon have a different perspective when it comes to driving.

finally something to agree on.
a. scooters riding bee in a tin can knobs need shooting
b. cage drivers should spend some time on a bike to see what it's like. or have 4 bald tyres fitted and the windscreen removed in the wet.oh and that stoner is a moron who can't take the blame for anything.

Dunno about that, I'm a keen cyclist but I do love my cars.

I was riding down the Old Kent Road, just about to turn the corner which leads up to New Cross at around ten to eight tonight.
There were cars parked along the side of the road so I was about to pull out into the middle of the two lane road, I looked over my shoulder to check that my way was clear.
A red and white motorbike was coming up behind me at speed, and did not register my presence in any way- he would have clipped my side if I had not braked and moved to the left.
He was stopped at traffic lights further along the road when I pulled up to his left.
I said “could you look next time?”
He said “what!”
I said “you almost hit me”
He said “look at you on your piece of shit!” Whilst we both pulled away.
Then he drove directly at me, cutting across my front as I braked sharply and pulled to the left.
He was very deliberately trying to force me into the pavement or the back of a parked car.
This happened two more times as I tried to get going again- although I will admit I was calling him a cunt by the third time.
He then sped off.
I tried to catch up with him, but my legs vs. a 650cc+ did not make it happen.Red and white large capacity motorbike, LY07UVR.
i had to sign up just because people like you really piss me off.
Do you pay road tax? do you f@ck. are u insured if you smack your peddlemobile into my car ? ARE YOU F@ck. do you have the rite to ponce round on the roads shouting and swearing at other people DO YOU f@ck. shut your stupid little mouth... people on pushbikes like u think your something special and that you have the rite to sqeeze in between cars in traffic e.t.c . guess what if you tried that with me youd find your bike in the nearest ditch with you following close behind. you arrogant stupid little cunt i hope somebody knocks you out sometime soon.

Pitchforks at the ready!
Try your local safer neighbourhoods team. Mine are chasing up an e-mailed complaint about the Post Office vans that have decided to race each other back to the depot every night through Wandsworth. They also chased up when I reported some little psychos hanging around in the Estates off Queenstown Road trying to push cyclists off their bikes.
Just Google "safer neighbourhoods" for the borough affected.
