IRO stuck in Seattle

Posted on
  • hi,
Having emigrated to Perth, Oz five weeks ago and problems with the IRO shipment at Cavandish taking ages, I had to order it direct from the manufacturer to a distant aunt in Seattle where at least she could get on her zimmer frame and help with organising a courier as those guys at IRO are Fecking useless (UPS for a zillion squid or take a hike).

So far USPS won't sent as it's too big and managed to get a local company to quote $400... shit, the frame didn't cost that much and I'm poorpa anyhow. Anybody got any tips on getting a frame from the US to Australia any cheaper? I've been checking with a company called myUS.com, redirection service out of florida. Any of you guys used these?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated as sooner or later my aunt will get pissed at this bike box cluttering up her flat and hock it.

    Cheers,
    Dan

  • they are cheap frames made in taiwan. can't you get something similar direct from there?
IRO are just low budget box shifters, hardly worth the hassle and expense of trying to import?

  • yeh m8.. would just have been easier to buy the bloody frame in Oz

and USPS will ship a bike frame sized package.. ive had ice hockey sticks WITH kit shipped over.. bigger and heaver than a frame.

  • nope, you can't get fuck all track frames here in Perth. Seeing as it's 170quid for the frame then it's worth the punt. Anydoos, going with myus.com as it's $107 but will double check. Cheers anyhow.
