I have an old Citroen AX back then (surprisingly reliable), and I loved driving it a lots that occasionally I enter track day occasionally just to have a blast (the car is extremely light despite having a weak engine), when I read the agreement form of the insurance company that I insured my car with; they specifically said that the insurance is valid for road only, not off-road, track racing etc. that'd either need a different insurance or a seperate insurance.
you're mucking about on track with a higher chance of a cock-up than on the road, that alone should be enough to realise that your current insurance for the road where you drive sensibly and carefully isn't good enough to be covered on track.
No, eds, you haven't got that right at all. Motorcycle insurance companies have a more enlightened attitude to trackdays than do the regular car ones. They have to, as so very many bikers do trackdays..

You mean Rockers and Hipsters.
Hipsters and Mods are genetically linked. Rockers are genetically bankrupt.

I really can't remember that much, it was half a decades ago, so yeah you're right.

Hmmm Call me sad but i just took the time out to call Bennetts and MCE insurance and asked them
"If i had a motorcycle policy with you, and i also used my bike for racing, does it invalidate my insurance?"
The reply was
"Your insurance is not valid on the track, however as long as your vehicle is not modified past those listed to us when you take out the policy, it is not invalidated"
So just to reiterate I have not invalidated my insurance by racing my bike, as long as it is not modified past those listed to my insurance company. Which it isnt.
So night night fuckwit, go find some other bullshit to spout out!
seldom killer did say "if specifically permitted"
I know if I was an insurance company I wouldnt cover trackday car or bike racers as standard.

har. i love road safety and traffic code violation arguments.
kinda reminds me of the driving instructor's swingers party from fist of fun where they'd all sit about playing really slow scalextric and incurring the other instructor's wrath if they passed a red light or what have you. "Durrrrr Jan! You passed a 'Give Way' sign without stopping to check the road ahead was clear! Are you STUPID?!"
Of course they then all put on their leather driving gloves (with a mesh in the back of the hand area) and put their car keys in a bowl. But as that decided who was going to drive who's learner car home for the night i can't see that part of it catching on here.
