Not so long ago everyone in my office sat and watched as a white transit pulled up to where there's always a lots of bikes chained up as well as a motorcycle parking bay/rank. Two guys get out the back with some powered bolt cutters as per fire service. Start throwing bikes in the back followed by a couple of very expensive motorbikes.
With a huge grin and upraised finger they then disappeared. The next day the police sent someone round to get statements. Given this was in EC2 with endless cameras, armed bobbies stood on Moorgate etc I guess it's indicative of where bike/motorcycle theft sits in their priorities.
My bike now sits behind my desk when I'm at work...
