  • Thanks for the pictures, everyone, especially WAID for catching Hillbilly emerging sea-monster like; Max- great video of the joyful downhill swoop into Hove, en masse. (Nick Drake soundtrack to boot! +thanks for the definitive and accurate route sheet).

@ Skully- the facial redness is just in juxtaposition to your dayglo 'ban radioactivity' jersey. Subdued hues that flatter the skin tone better. Won't stop the heart attack, but you'll be a prettier corpse!

@ Lebowski the staggered start clearly worked. Should use again on well attended rides.

BTW did anyone from the first group notice I led the WRONG WAY for the first mile?

WAID and I did notice that actually. thought you just wanted to show us around the wonders of souf landan.

  • we did mentioned it to you... but you choose to ignore us...:(

  • shit weather, excellent ride. nice to meet so many new people: ... chris "do a skid",...

right who has been impersonating me?

  • Top ride everyone!! Should never have been with the fast group and apologies go out to that elite bunch who rode flat out but had to do a fair bit of waiting. big thanks to Claus for getting three punctures and allowing me to catch up and catch my breath.
Great feeling getting to the top of the dyke and sinking some pints. respect to Max for looking out for everyone and respect to all those who went for a swim.

  • right who has been impersonating me?

ha, not sure mate. i don't know his username.

he is so called as me, andy and kelvin were out riding a few weeks ago and someone shouted 'do a skid' at us. turned out it was the chris we were riding with yesterday.

  • Chris 'do a skid' (mark 2) is standing 5th from right, black polo shirt on. I don't know his nickname either...

  • The mystary 'other' do a skid Chris is Livingasleep.

  • oh yeah! duh

  • I heard a couple of wasters joined you on the beach!

  • Object, come by cantaloes when the Sunday in build up. That thing sounds nice.

  • I'm there dude. The best thing being I haven't ridden for 7 years so I have to learn everything again.

  • Thats no problem. Just rolling rownd the bowl as fast as you can is amazing.

  • Valid. I love skating that bowl, BMXing it will be awesome.
Are they still crazy stricty on the opening times?

  • I think opens at 11 and they chuck you out at 9. The main problem with it is how busy it gets. You can spend half your time waiting to get a run.

  • That's why I was wondering if they were still as strick. I used to live 54 minutes away so skated every Saturday morning and got thrown out every saturday morning. It got quite tedious.

  • right who has been impersonating me?

ive been dubbed 'do a skid' due to insisting Brightonians do a skid while stationary. ive seen it done in London, don't know why they couldnt do it...

great ride by the way! thanks to everyone that organised it!

ill stick my photos up once i find out which sites host hi-res photos.

  • I have never been thrown out on a Saturday morning before. 54 minutes is a very precise journey time. I live what would be a 15min roll down the hill away but the hill is a bit too steep with no brakes so it is 30min half scuffing half walking trip there with a 20min struggle bat up dartmouth park hill. I sware that hill is easier on a BMX than it is fixed.

  • who's napoleon dynamite on the far right in red. damn nerds!!

  • Crap typing. i meant 5 minutes away.

  • That makes more sense.

  • :]

  • yeah Napoleon looks fat man!

  • Cool vid and photos...
and it looks like a great day.
    Good Times

(dancing james... hope you're ok fella)

  • just realised I hadn't posted to say hella-ride all and what a good day despite the constant drizzle.

big props go to lebowski (i think the format of staggered times work well - people have just got to make sure they are in the right group And take own copy of directions), mx-l and the brighton crew (nice route into and pub at the Devil's Dyke and top hosting on the beach), to Claus, Hillbilly and Texas who drove the fast group along, and the rest of the fast group for getting amongst it. apologies to Charlie - hope you enjoyed the ride though dude.

really good to see a lot of new faces on this ride, and hope to see you along on plenty more.

big shout to skoota too. just because...
