  • Trouble is Jonny, you can't fit more than one bike into a classic Mini!

  • I've had two bikes and two people in a Mini before. You just need to be imaginative!

  • What, imagine that you had two bikes and two people in a mini? ;)

  • Sounds fun jonny. Do you know the route off the top of your head?

  • Yeah, the 'Route Of The Top Of Johnny's Head' starts at the bridge of his nose and immediately climbs the infamous widow's peak before taking in the steep descent of temporal lobe east and then going round the occipital road for a bit, blah, blah...

  • Ped ant tick buzz tard

Im gonn typo everthing now just to anoy u

  • disappointed you didn't go up box hill. it's piss easy and not as bad as people make out and is easily ridden seated if you don't run a silly gear.

  • ja.. box hill is easy. i think it's just the first time you hit it you don't know how long it is (and it's longer than most climbs near London).

  • Boxhill is fucking rubbish, apart from having a couple of hairpins. The road surface is horrible, and it's not steep enough, but the view is quite nice if you come down the zig-zag road.

  • What are your opinions on Whiteleaf Hill? Longer than most southern Eng stuff I think and a bit steeper than Box, etc.

  • I can't remember it properly. All the Surrey ones are poncey obnoxious manicured twats. I like my home counties' hills Kentish.

  • mr smith, box hill was just not worth it in the time we had. as bmmf said the surface is way pitted and even has speed bumps ffs. we do take it normally on the day time.

hippy, i know this route like the back of my hand. been riding it regular for the last few years. it has it all.

  • I've had two bikes and two people in a Mini before. You just need to be imaginative!

Yeah, I have done it before, but one was a Brompton so it was cheating a bit. Anyway, I prefer my bike to have an intact paintjob on them!

  • Sounds like a great ride jonny. Hope to make it next time.

  • Jonny what gear were you running incidently? route looks like fun...need to get my knees working a bit better and i may do it some day.

  • i want in on this - it sounds great. i'm about to piss off for three weeks holiday but am eager to do it on my return. lovely roads, lovely hills and lovely peeps. fan-fucking-tastic.

  • Jonny what gear were you running incidently?

I'm interested to know too. Last time I went that way the short steep little ramp up onto Ranmore Common from Westhumble took a bit of a dig riding geared... Think it would probably kill me on 70" fixed.

Looks like a good route to help HTFU though.

  • pete et pete,

70" is what i run. perfect gear for the ride. and yeah this ride is good for a bit of the old htfu training

@mashton - this will be happening again, and hopefully again. though will get a bit dangerous when winter sets in. still gives us a good couple of months.

  • if you're doing this again give us a shout. like the idea after chatting clintsmoker yesterday.

  • Dam Jonny I would have been up for this if I was about. Meet a few more of Team Etchingham too would be good.

  • I think the plan is to do it again next Tuesday, the 12th, if you can make it Tommy?

  • I think the plan is to do it again next Tuesday, the 12th, if you can make it Tommy?

Next week is going to be too busy for me. Have fun though sounds like a great ride Jonny has told me about it before.

  • I'm keen next tuesday the 12th, if other people are and weather permitting (light rain fine heavy storms then second thoughts...)

  • nice one Texas. meet at waterloo around 1915. light rain no pro but agreed if weather is serious. would just be silly and dangerous out there. will bump nearer the time.
